09 1LT with 131,500 miles. Basic maintenance along with struts, lower control arms, sway bar bushings, end links, hub bearings, intake and exhaust solenoid, thermostat (which ironically failed a day after I had a coolant flush from the local GM dealer).

Wish me luck. i bought a used 2006 HHR with the 2.4l motor today. 243,000 miles and running strong. I wish I knew if the previous owner has done a timing chain replacement. But, I bought it from a person who has only had it for a short time, and have no history. I may want to do a timing chain replacement just in case.

With 235k you should be listening for start up rattle ( tensioner) or short growl (guides). I would hope you would be doing a second replacement chain at least. Good to do about every 100k.

I teach highschool, and am good friends with the autoshop teacher. He may be teaching the kids how to do a timing chain replacment on a 2006 HHR. I fix his computers, he uses my cars to teach the kids different jobs. It is a beneficial relationship to both of us.

My '06' LT 2.4L was traded away nearly two years ago after 8 1/2 years and 130,000+ miles on it I never had any issues with the car, replacing a couple of sensors after 110,000 miles. I always wondered what happened to it after being wholesaled out by the dealer. The car was always a strong runner and did get great mpg.

Our 2008 HHR LS is now over 200,000 miles. We just bought a new 2017 Cruze that had 3 miles on it when we drove it off the lot. That's the lowest mileage new vehicle I've seen. Wife is doing the shakedown on that one while I have the HHR in Ohio (600 miles from home)
It has never had any drive train parts replaced and the only engine issue was a burned exhaust valve seat covered by warranty. Also has all the original suspension and steering parts. I'm sure eventually something will quit working on it but to this point it's only been the usual consumables such as tires, brakes, wiper blades, bulbs, etc. Did replace the battery once. I change the oil at about 25 percent depending on mileage and have never changed any other fluids. Transmission still shifts well and the clutch is original. We like this car quite a bit and plan to keep it well into the future.

I took this last night at the grocery store in Nashville IN to show friends how weird it was that it was 75 at 6:00 PM in Indiana in November. It has the mileage on my car. Still runs strong, uses no oil, and has no CEL on at all. I bought it with 44k miles and have changed the transmission fluid at every 50k, trans filter every 100k, and use Valvoline synthetic high mileage oil and transmission fluid. I've also done the flush and refill on the cooling system twice now. I plan on seeing if I can get 500k or more out of it. Its a 2006 HHR 2LT

Hello to all. Been a while since I've been on.... I posted in another thread a couple years ago about mileage but I see it's closed now.

I'm sitting at 231K now.. Just had to put my first axle in. (Drivers side) and looks like it will need a wheel bearing.

Other than the typical things like end links you hear folks say on here, the only thing I've done, outside of "consumables" is those solenoids on top of the engine. (Had the hard shifting issue and those fixed it.)

Whoops.. take that back.. a radiator.. Dang forgot that one.

So it's a 2008-
I've done brakes and rotors (front) brakes 4 times and rotors once.

Rear brakes once.

Radiator and fan. (Fan had broken blades.)

End links four times until I finally put the Moog parts on.

Drivers side axle.

Serviced trans once at 140k.

Plugs at 100k and 170k. (Last set just because I was teaching my kid how to maintain the car.)

I have driven this car a lot, it has been used. Not abused.

Not a tear in the interior but the floor mat on the drivers side, has a hole worn through from my heel resting and twisting on it over the years!

By the way, it's a 2.4 and passes inspection without issues every time.

People are always impressed with the car's "quickness" getting out in traffic and it's overall utility. I can cram a ton in it!

I carried home two rooms worth of laminate flooring home in it! And several times I've hauled 8 foot two by fours home in it.

Although I now own a Cruze as well.. (bought expecting my upcoming teen driving daughter would drive it and be safe...) 99% of the time.... I drive the HHR..

Well wishes to all!

Oh... I'm looking at a 2010 SS now!!!!!!
