I have 16'' winterforce tires, but I haven't used them yet. I don't think I'd actually use studs though.

I would go with the 2nd tire, looks like it will handle rain and slush better than the first one, as well as snow.
You in upstate NY and get lots of ice ? I know down here they outlawed studed snows.

I drove my 2006 HHR with the stock tires for 3 seasons with no problem at all. I plan on doing the same with my 2009.

You guys in NY can still run studded tires?
Illegal here in Michigan. Too bad, I used to run them in the old days and they really worked
