Honestly ?

After the first week of almost backing into on coming vehicles, I've adjusted to it, but I still try to back in wherever I park it.

I do it every day, out of my garage, at 5:30am in the dark. Over 3 years in and out of parking spots. Never an issue. Properly adjusted mirrors is all I need. Problem is most people don't know how to adjust theirs. They have all 3 looking at what's directly behind them.

Driving while blind
I freaked out a little bit when I first test-drove my Panel. I couldn't see out the front. The windshield was low & the pillars were wide. It was like driving with a diving mask on.
But I didn't care because I wanted a Panel. I always liked customized full size vans so the HHR Panel caught my eye.
I put a very large spot mirror on the right side & a small one on the left. For me, this is sufficient to safely operate the vehicle.
The limited rear view was a given because hello, it's a panel!
You get used to it, trust us.

For me, the most important use of the rear side windows is while I change lanes on the highway. Yesterday I was trying to change lanes and the sun was on the horizon in the direction I was looking, and the window was so dirty from the snow storm, and with the glare I couldn't tell there was a car just to the side and slightly behind me. So I got half way over into the lane before I realized I was cutting someone off. I hate when people creep up on you and insist on staying in your blind spot.
Despite what everyone here has said, I have never been able to position mirrors so as to avoid all the blind spots. And I tow a travel trailer with my Avalanche, so I know how to rely on side mirrors.

Yup, thats the problem with blind spots...always there, somewhere. Only thing NOT having a blindspot is a boat! Just one of those once you drive it for awhile it doesn't bother you anymore....try driving a full sized windowless van!

I drove commercial trucks for many years. To this day, I simply adjust my mirrors appropriately, and use them like I did when I was driving trucks.

Someone with good mirrors should be able to drive and park anything. The key is to learn to use them properly and adapt.
