Before I bought my HHR, I drove an orange panel. I am a little guy and I couldn't see squat out of it. SO I passed, on it.

 

Just got my Panel last week and like everyone has said just use the mirrors and everything is easy. I went with the Back up Cam when I ordered mine. So far I like it.

 

drove a window-less '82 GMC extended van for years as a daily driver. mirror adjustment is key, spotters help. ask any motorcyclist, NEVER turn your head to look back while changing lanes... use your mirrors.

 

I'm fairly certain that is NOT what they taught in drivers training....

Very good point, but try that in a Class C motorhome. All you see is either the bathroom door or the refrigerator.

Nevertheless, it's important to learn how to use mirrors in the event that the vehicle has limited visibility. The HHR panel is no different.

 

You forgot the ask any motorcyclist part in the quote.
on a bike... it only take a second to turn your head and look, true. but it only takes a split second for the car in front of you to hit their brakes, and for you to eat their trunk. and yeah, you don't wanna turn your handle bars either.

If a semi driver can do millions of safe miles with only mirrors I am sure an HHR owner of moderate skill can do the same.

There are some vehicles you just have to learn to use the mirrors.

Lets face it with the driving skills of some I see on the road today even looking is not even good enough. I wouls hate to see them in a non panel HHR driving as they would lose me in their A pillar blind spot.

 

"Moderate Skill" is becoming quiet rare nowadays. Too busy on the cell, texting or eating a burger. I do a round trip to Phoenix about twice a year and am amazed at the number of drivers on the Interstate doing 80 that have a portable DVD or a small laptop up on the dash watching a movie.

 

i've never driven anything w/o windows but i dont turn my head anyways so it shouldnt be that hard to get the hang of.

 

I'd like to see a link for that backup cam. I have no problem driving with mirrors, but backing out of a parking spot is tough.
