Horny HHR

This is a weird "problem" or small anoyance that I discovered the other day. It seems that the horn gets activated sometimes when I turn. At first I thought I was hitting the button, but I'm not. It's happened about 4 or 5 times in the 2 months I've owned it. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Its probably something with the contacts behind the wheel at the top of the steering column that complete the circuit from the horn buttons to the rest of the vehicle. Does the horn stick "on" or is it a momentary "beep" every now and then. If its just a little unplanned "beep" I'd wait on pulling the wheel, if it sticks "on" you'll be looking at a new contact ring. On of those PIA jobs and probably best left to a tech.

My 1985 Buick did that. Had to take the steering wheel apart to reseat the contacts. Of course that was pre-airbag days.

The title of this thread sounds very....well, you know. Something tells me this thread might end up in the "OK so I'm Childish" collection. Anyone else?

I'm surprised it hasn't ended up there already goetylsd. When I initially saw the subject of the post I was expecting a pic of an HHR with a Viking helmet on the roof.

I think GM has given the HHR a vasectomy as a means of Preventing Procreation..

It's only been momentary, just a little beep. I'll keep an eye (or ear) on it and report my findings to the dealer if it gets out of hand.

As for the subject, lighten up.

We were just kidding around. It's all meant in fun.
