I'm 6'3" and was 250 lbs in my high school years, and people are amazed I fit in my HHR.
I did have to get the power seat though, the manual adjuster just didn't give enough room. So if not for the elctric seat, I would not own one.

So like stated, try sitting in one as it's going to end up being just how comfortable YOU feel in it.

I'm 6-1 1/2 and wear a tall western hat alot, still have 3 or 4 fingers of space above the hat. BUT, I also had to have the power seat and no sunroof on the one I bought.

Second week we had it daughter and future son-in-law who is 6-7 260 went out to dinner with us with him sitting in the rear passenger side. He had several inches of head room and plenty of leg room. Still, you really need to go sit in one with and without the sunroof, different seats, front & back and then make your decision.

There are a couple gizmos for under $20 that allow taller drivers to see traffic lights much easier without leaning forward or twisting your neck

One of the reasons I bought the HHR was the room in the back seat. Three normal sized people can fit relatively comfortably for short trips, 2 can fit easily.

check it out in person... they seem a lot larger inside than I thought before getting in.

I end up driving the crew here at work to lunch a lot when we go out. My best friend usually calls shotty and he's 6'4" 285. He's been in it with 6'3" co worker behind him and they both had plenty of room. Call it the Meat Wagon when we all pile in

Before I bought my last two cars, I rented the model I was considering. This gave me the chance to test it during my normal routine, to see if it would fit me and my lifestyle. Might try that....
