6'2", 260lbs. I have the sunroof/pwr seat and I fit fine. Took awhile to find my groove but I'm comfy now. I agree with another member that said that the manual seat went lower and I originally wanted that, but I am happy to have the power seat now. As for rear seat room...it's good considering the size of car but the front occupants need to move the seats up a bit.

5' 10" and 275 here. My 11 year old son's 5' 8" and we both fit fine in the SS. I've driven 11+ hours straight with barely any problems (i.e. just a sore driver's knee because I refuse to use CC, rest of my body was perfect and not tired). I test drove a 2LT before I found my SS but the comfort level was great in that ride too. You'll have to do some ducking at stop lights but there are a few things available to remedy/alleviate that.

I'm 6'5" 220lbs. Getting in and out is easy. I have to recline the seat and my hair still brushes against the headliner where the roof support bar comes across. Shoulder room is a little narrow. The biggest pain is arm reach. My long legs force me to put the seat all the way back and with the seat reclined some my arms are very straight out, reaching the steering wheel. The left arm rest is too low to use it as a support and it's rock hard. The window sill is too high to rest my elbow on. The right arm rest is too short to use with a hand on the wheel. Chevy really had their head up their *sses when they designed the drivers seat. Like everyone says, the upper field of vision is 2 or 3" shorter than it should have been.
For the 1st two weeks I was freaking out, "what have I done?" My arms where sore etc. After about three weeks I got used to it and now I'm pretty happy with it. The equalizer is it's a really cool car that get's lot's of compliments. The utility is fantastic and I love the dash computer monitoring system. It's really a small SUV and you can't touch most SUV's for the same price, particularly in the used catagory.
So, if you're tall I don't think a quick test drive will let you know if you'll be ultimately satisfied with the fit. I'm afraid you'll have to make the leap of faith and buy it unless you can borrow one to drive for a few weeks. It seems most tall drivers say the fit "grows" on them after a while and they can live with some of the drivers seat deficiencies that are balanced out with the other positives I mentioned above.

I am 6' 2", weigh 238 and fit fine in my '07 HHR. I absolutely love my car. From what I have read you might be better in a '07 vs and '06. Mainly since '06 was the first year and had more than usual bugs.

I'm 6'2" and closer to 300# than I like to admit. I was wondering if I'd fit in one when they first came out. The local dealer finally got a couple in and I took a look. The first one had a sunroof and my head touched the roof. He had me sit in the one without a sunroof and I fit fine. When I heard it only had a 2.4, 4 cylinder I didn't want to drive it. He talked me into taking a test drive. I wrote a check and drove it home.

I know a couple who drive their mothers, who are both in their 90s, around. It was difficult to get them in a car or minivan but the HHR works great.
