How do you say...

It has nothing to do with a light truck and the HHR is built on a car chassis, the same one as the Cobalt and Ion. You can buy an LT Aveo if you want and thats far from a truck! Trust me all three of those people were talking out their ass and LT has nothing to do with light truck. Here is a list of Chevy cars available in LT:
LT Aveo
LT Cobalt
LT Malibu / Malibu Maxx
LT Impala
LT Monte Carlo
Six different cars from Chevy that all are LTs. Sorry Teknobunie, light truck has nothing to do with Chevys meaning of LT!

OK:
My Astro was a LS.........There is a LT option too. They have added the LTZ, and the ZL1 in the truck(Tahoe) line. don't know what the LTZ and ZL1stands for but is an option designation.
I think the LS(luxury sedan) and LT(Luxury Touring), is probably right but as far as 1LT, 2LT????????????? Good question....Then there is the SS(Super Sport) the old RS(Rally Sport) and the Z cars? Z-28, Z-34, Z-24, these were factory option codes... Be interesting to see what Chevrolet says is the now definition of these two Abbreviations. Obviously LS, 1LT and 2LT are Options codes.

1997 Celebrity LS
1975 Monte Carlo LS
1982 Cavaliar LS
1978 Chevrolet G-20 Van Beauville

LS = Luxury Sport
LT = Luxury Touring
And while I'm at it, here's some other common ones for GM:
SS = Super Sport
RS = Rally Sport
GT = Gran Turismo
GS = Gran Sport
GSX = Gran Sport eXtra
GTO = Gran Turismo Omologato
442 = 4 speed, 4 barrel, 2 exhausts.
LUV = Light Utilty Vehicle
APV = All Purpose Vehicle
IROC = International Race Of Champions
SSR = Super Sport Roadster
And of course, don't forget HHR = Heritage High Roof
LT = Luxury Touring

The LS models have a softer, more "touring" based suspension.
The LT Models are firmer and more "sportier" sprung.
Just doesn't make any sense does it?
