I got 2+2, and bought an extra key off Ebay. WalMart cut it for free and it took me a couple seconds to program it. I keep an extra to all my cars just in case. Had to use one once when I locked a key in the car and my wife was on travel with her set.

2+2 here also. Now a kind of side question - seriously I'm not trying to hijack the thread this just kind of fits here - I know the keys are "chipped" does anyone make a key that will work that is FLAT?? Why, because as others have stated I like to have a spare available but I like to carry it in my wallet. Has come in handy more times than I want to admit to!! Probably just my "old-timers" cutting in, or is it CRS?? Well you get the idea!
BTW Where did you all order your third key from if not the dealer??
Thanks,
Sarge

3 keys 2 key fobs. They gave me 2 & 2, but I found one in that black hole that resides between the front seat and the center console. We had submitted a transportation claim for a missing key when the vehicle was delivered to us.

I had a wallet key with my '96 GMC. Saved me several times from automatic alarm door locks.

I'm rather miffed at my dealer. There's no good reason I have to ask them for the other key...or the missing antenna for that matter.

Got mine for a couple bucks off ebay. To program you put your good key in and turn on without starting the engine, turn it off and within a few seconds put the new key in and turn on then off. Then try starting the car with that key. Mine worked first time.

Two keys, two remotes. One set went to me, and the other to my hubby. We then had to pay $60 at a locksmith(cheaper than the dealer) for an extra spare to keep at home.

I got mine from Amazing Keys off the Internet. They also sell on eBay. I'd LOVE a flat key but in these days of chipped keys, it's not gonna happen. Of course if you found the correct blank in a flat key, that would get you INTO the car... but no further down the road
