I usually get between 320 and 350 miles per tank and mine is all city driving. Last fill up cost me $41.00 and gas was $2.59 so that would have been about 15.5 gallons. I don't normally let it get that low, but I was running around and forgot until the low fuel light came on.

Wow...I thought it would be a lot more but as you guys said, a lot of it is city driving where mine is 90% highway...

One factor is gas for me and I may be taking a pretty big hit there. Cost me $28.44 for 11.203 gallons for a fillup tonight and that was at 377 miles.

33.65 mpg not bad for winter gas

I thought I saw some people saying that they have gotten over 30 mpg with their HHRs...where you at?

Opps didnt see gr8's post befor I posted..ok that sounds good..I just don't want to be filling up every 2 or 3 days...would love to stretch it out to the 425-450 range to make it every 4 days

Anything from 340 to just a touch over 400....depending on the type of driving.

Almost always get over 400. Last time I got 473! YAY! I don't remember how much I put into the tank after that. I was just hitting "in the red" and car said I had about 65 miles to go. I should have tried for 500. LOL

From fully topped off to 1/8 of a tank about 360-380 miles, then it takes 12.5 gallons to fill.

Fuel Intake

Just last Saturday I took a short trip from Niagara Falls, NY almost to Canton, Ohio. 412 miles round trip. I filled up after getting back home, put in 12.2 gallons @ $2.28 a gal.
There was two big guy's in the HHR, Automatic.
I think that works out to 33.7 MPG, I'm very happy with that.

It looks like I'm going to get about 400 miles on my very first tank. That's with my daily commute which is 60 miles round trip with 80% highway at 50-55 mph. Not bad at all with winter gas! My DIC shows 8.5 l/100km, which translates to 27.7 mpg.

Filled up for the first time tonight! Bought the HHR on 3-24.....got 340 miles on the tank & had to put in 14.5 Gal... but that was mostly in town driving with a few short hwy runs to other parts of town. When it was nice (till we hit the 30's & 40's again! ) I had the sunroof open or @ least popped... & the front windows open, so that may have caused some wind drag. Looking forward to some warmer weather!

The gas door on the passenger side will take some getting use to... first car I have owned where it hasn't been on the Drivers side
Luckily I wasn't driving, my husband was, so he filled it up for me

I'm still on my first fill up, but gas mileage looking great. Gas gauge is still showing one mark above half full and I've already gone 200 miles
