I paid $4,500 for mine. There isn't even an option close to that in the poll.

low priced ones

On autotrader.com, there are just 5 HHRs under $5000 nationwide. One is a rebuilt wreck, three are NOT rebuilt, just wrecked. The only one that is not wrecked/salvaged has 155k MILES. I guess yours is like the last one?

16,980 before tax/etc

2006 2LT used with 24,000 km on it at the time. They put on new struts for me before hand, and the free running boards due to the issue at the time.

So I am happy with the purchase, the price obviously goes up with financing and tax but thats the way it goes.

$15,200 for brand new 2009 SS last august. That was with GM discount and cash for clunker trade. Had a 1986 Chevy van. Paid $1700 for it 5 years prior. It only had 87,000 miles on it. Rusty and stuff, but was pretty reliable. I kinda miss the old thing, had room enough in the back for my HHR....almost. I didn't really want another payment but I couldn't pass up the deal either. I love the SS.

I just bought my 2008 Shadow Edition for $12,300 with just under 14k miles. Got another $2000 trade in for my Saturn. Best deal I've ever gotten on a car. So happy I can hardly see straight.
