saw $2.55 here in NW Washington, we used to did have highest gas prices in the nation, and we even have two refineries in my back yard!! greedy bustards!

(At almost $4.00 we couldn't afford to tow the TT to the campgrounds anymore so we sold the old TT just before the prices started dropping, now we could be camping, but............)

$2.28 a gallon for Regular, $2.64 a gallon for Premium as of 9pm last night.

$3.70 a US gallon here last night or $0.97.9 a liter

$2.30/gal at I-94 and Cooper St Jackson MI

$2.17/gal @ Costco in Mesa.

$2.15/gal. at Mapco in Clarksville.

Had to make a run down to South Carolina this afternoon. $2.11 a gallon for Regular, $2.40 a gallon for Premium at the Slime's...err....Sam's Club in Rock Hill.

a friend of mine works in precious metals. I asked him what was the reason for the dramatic and ongoing drop in oil / gas prices? He said there is no such thing as "supply and demand" of oil / gas. He said the prices are SET.
It made me reflect on stories i heard over the years that might support that.

But, i just heard our New Jersey is contemplating an increase in the GASOLINE TAX.
Makes me wonder how many other states are contemplating the same? After all, Governors, Tax Collectors etc gather once a year at Conferences and I am sure they share ideas...

So, is the reason for lowering the price, an excuse or a cover to RAISE THE TAX?
Are they hoping an increase in the TAX won't be noticed among the falling prices?
And when prices go UP AGAIN, we will have the extra tax already in place, blaming the "supply and demand" or something for the rise in prices.....?

Footnote: I am driving an HHR because 5 years ago, i was TOO SCARED to buy a Lincoln Towncar amidst talk of GASOLINE GOING TO $12-15 PER GAL!
