Sandybeach - you're right, balancing is very important. However, with proper rotation tire wear should be fairly consistent so the wheel balance shouldn't be thrown off.

It doesn't hurt to have it checked though! (especially is you have cheap access to a wheel balancer!).

If you are speaking to me....yes !!

I change oil and filter, rotate tires (with the related maintenance. stated) and take it into a tire shop for balance. I pay one time for life time balance and indicate, at the time of payment, that I will be back frequently for the rebalance. Haven't had a problem yet.

The one I have in mind is Michelin branded, so I would think that it would be ANSI approved. I'll check the packaging before buying though.

To follow up, the Michelin branded hydraulic jack and jack stands are ANSI approved.

Debating whether to get the 2 ton or 3 1/2 ton jack stands.

Picked up 2 sets of jack stands and a hydraulic jack on sale today.

The cool thing is they pretty much match the paint of my HHR I need help
