I maybe trading up....

So,

Been kicking the idea of getting back into a truck for a while. Been searching for the sport trucks mainly (Silverado SS, Ram SRT-10, and Lightning) for the past couple of months. Well found an 2004 Lightning tonight that fit the bill. The half an hour test drive still hasn't removed the grin from my face. Low miles and I was able to talk them down a couple of g's. Insurance would be a lot cheaper than the SS. So, tomorrow I will be heading in to talk finance terms. If all checks out, I might end up buying it. Well, I'm going to sleep on it and see what I decide to do after I hear all the facts. As much as I love the SS, I've wanted a Lightning for a couple of years now and this maybe it. When I bought the SS, nobody wanted to budge on the Lightning prices. Plus, the blower sounds pretty darn good to me

I'll let you guys know either way,

Dave

Sad to hear this, hopefully your SS will go to a good owner. I know I'd love to have a Silver Ice Metallic SS..

While I do like Lightnings I know that your SS is your daily driver. I would 1). not trade for an older car and 2). For a rear wheel drive truck (especially in Michigan) and 3). not like to put gas in it. Let us know what you decide.

I'd wait another month if I were buying a V8 powered vehicle. Once fuel hits $4 or $5 a gallon, you'll be able to steal those trucks and at least you won't be losing your shirt if you decide to sell if you get one cheap.

I enjoyed driving my 2wd Ranger alot more in the snow than the HHR. Gas isn't really a concern for me. I make more money for gas delivering pizza's then I actually use. It's close to a 75% profit for me. I only burn about a half a tank delivering during the week and I get paid close to $90-$120 a week just for gas and car care expenses. I fill up every 8-9 days. When gas does go up, so does my gas expense pay. My boss treats us well.

You know you want an 810 bhp @ 5,600 rpm Hennessey VelociRaptor 800 Twin Turbo

It's a pretty color!

Hopefully your boss doesn't decide to cut back when these gas prices go up, not only will it be gas prices but every other item you can think of that's being transported. Not trying to talk you out of it but think about all it may affect. I have been missing my truck this winter but as it warms up I'm missing it less and less. Wonder what it averages...12-14 mpg, good luck with it, gotta love the V/8 muscle.

X 2, no surprise they are willing to cut deals on the gas hogs..

Should make the HHR more desirable as well, being a minor gas sipper..

But whatever makes you happy....
