I need 2 cents...

First of all I want to say hi to all and hope that you will share your wisdom with me in the HHR world. I have liked them since they came out and I have now come to the time to buy one, I have decided on a new 2009 HHR Panel 2LT. I want to get the best deal and thats where you come in, I see that there is very few of them on the market (at least in my area) and that will be a problem if I can't find one on a lot with the colors and stuff that I want. Can a guy order one from a dealer and still get a deal? I spoke with a salesman the other day and he says yeah I can order one BUT if the specials aren't running when your car comes in then you don't get the same deals that are running now. Idon't mind flying to a different state if the deal pencils out.
I would like to buy a Card. red panel LT with sunroof and the big stereo along with running boards and black leather interior. A rear camera might be nice and how about the rear sliding work shelf? I am also still on the fence about the transmission I see that this model comes with the automatic but should I get the 5 speed manual?
Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks from your newbie. Rick

Oh man, I saw a card red panel on the way to work the other day--gorgeous color!
So for now, a pre-welcome to the HHR familia!

Thanks for the welcome, I do like that color but if I have trouble getting that its going to be black for sure! I really like your gate in the photo did you make it? Rick

Black was my 4th choice color--keeping it clean is a must, but it looks oh so good when it sparkles and shines!

The gate is at West Coast Choppers (Jesse James's place) in Long Beach, CA.

Go for it man! Just drive the different engine styles and choose! The SS comes in a panel as does the AA5.

What you were told by the salesman is true, if you order a vehicle, whatever incintives are in place at the time you take possession is what you are eligible for.

Yes that puts alittle sweat on the brow knowing you might miss out on what incintives that are here now. If you special order something, that may be what 2-3 months out and maybe NO incentives? I would still like to hear if it might be worth looking in other states or what other tricks you guys might have up your sleeve that you would share with me????? Rick

There's tons of 09 2LTs available around here. I would think someone in your area would carry one or more. I was looking at them and 09 SS's before I found my used 08 SS.

Go to the Chevy web site "build" the HHR you want....then on the Summary page click on Locate a Vehicle............ It will help you locate cars in your area with the options your looking for. I will even let you look at the window stickers....
