Happy Monday. NOT! On my way to work this morning, dreading the next 2 days ahead of me (way too much work to do, not nearly enough time), i'm about 1/2 mile from work thinking i'm going to be on time, the day's looking better already. All of a sudden this IDIOT decides to cross the street, it's a 4 lane street that's always extremely busy in the morning. I stop abrubtly to avoid hitting this man and then SCREEECH then WHAM a big F250 creams me. Much to my amazement, i am fine, the driver of the truck is fine, his truck is fine and well the HHR, not so fine but WAY better than what i anticipated seeing when i went to look. the bumper is popped out on either side about a 1/4 inch and the reflectors are broken. Also there is a little dimple where the screw from his license plate hit. I would say there was about 40 foot skid marks in the road and he was probably going about 30-35 when he tried to stop. He was very apologetic and we both kind of blamed it on the guy crossing the street (not at a crosswalk either). Sh*t happens, it'll get fixed, i'm just annoyed and typing this out to all of my fellow buddies (even though i haven't been on the forum in a while) makes me feel much better about the bruise my baby took today. Thanks for listening. i'll get photos and let you know what the quote comes in at.

Thanks everyone. I am hopefully going to get it into the Chevy Dealers Body Shop for an estimate today. Crossing my fingers it is under $1000. If it's over i have to deal with filing a police report and all those inconveniences. OY. It's almost exactly a year after i got rear ended in Maine when i had my colorado. If i didn't love my car so much, i'd take the bus.....

Sorry to hear about what happened to your baby...but at least nobody was hurt. Sucks for you and the other guy since it was the pedestrian's fault. Please keep us updated on what's going on with your HHR.

So, it's about $600 in damage. You can't really see anything in pictures. 90% of the damage is behind the bumper. I contacted the guy that hit me and he hasn't returned my call. I have a feeling it's going to get ugly and i so don't have the energy to deal with this right now!!! I was going to get the HHR waxed one last time before winter hit too. No sense in it now... GRRRR. I'll keep ya all posted. :)

In Wisconsin you must stop for pedestrians and if he back-ended you when stopped he is at fault, I would suggest you file a report and do it if it ever happens again.
