I want an HHR! - Now, what should I look for?

I just test drove my first HHR. Wow, what a cool little car... uh... truck.... uh.... SUV.... uh.... thing. It was fairly impressive for the price. I like the size. I like the style. I like the gas milage expectations.

Now... I've got my eye on a pair of 2006 models.

What should I look for as far as "problem areas" that need to be addressed?

Thanks!

PS: I've seen the tech-bulletins that show where people had the steering column replaced and the fact that the fuses never seem to stay in place.

What's the mileage of the ones you are looking at? Also can you get any history of any repairs --- warranty work or otherwise?

Other areas of concern would be the key stuck/shifter prob, and the dreaded water leak on passenger floor.

Welcome.

Look at a 2007 if possible, most early bugs seem to have been fixed in production.

I'm trying to get away at a fairly budget price. The one in particular I'm looking at is an '06 with almost 30,000 miles on it. The other is an '06 with a little over 40,000 miles on it.

Both are LT1's with the 2.2L.

But LT1s are engines... the 1LT is proper and a good as it is the touring suspension where the 2LT has the sport suspension. I like mine... good luck in your decision.. I have 38,000 on mine
