if the hood fits?

My hhr has some hail damage, mostly on the hood, and I found a used hood that is the right color. I am wondering if one of our hoods would actually fit in the back of the car itself? I am trying to avoid driving the truck or van since it is kinda a drive to go get it.

The hood is pretty wide at the back edge. Around 64 inches by my quick measurement. Even trying to fit it in the back of the car diagonally, the hatch opening isn't anywhere near to being wide enough.

I was considering doing just that. Leaving mine there with the guy if he wanted it. But I want to keep my grill so easier to just bring the new one home.

thanks, I was thinking the hood was smaller, and the back was bigger. 😀

Swapping the grill is easy also.
10mm socket, 6 screws
5 minutes

Drive there with no grill. Bend the old one up drop it at the metal recycler on the way home. Put the grill on when you get home.

according to the seller, this hood has a little bit of hail damage too which defeats the purpose of replacing mine, so it might all be for moot. But, at least I know now that the hood doesn't fit the back of the car. I know there are a bunch on car-parts.com, but they all are quite a drive too.

A twin mattress is 39" wide by 75" long. It appears that a mattress will fit flat if the the rear seats are folded flat and the rear 'deck' is placed on the upper supports. It will for sure fit diagonally. I'm not sure about the length; it will be close (my car is not here right now for me to measure)

This has nothing to do with OP but still nice for me to know. Thanks.
