If your supplier is not far away, dismantle your hood at home and go to the supplier without a hood.
At normal (but not fast) speeds, the absence of a hood will not affect the health of the car in any way, but to calm you down, cover the engine compartment with a tarpaulin (a piece of an advertising banner, a ripped potatoes bag, something like that). Fasten one edge of the fabric to the hood hinges, and the opposite edge to the radiator frame (support?).
