General HHR Discuss anything related to the Chevy HHR that doesnt seem to fit into the more specific categories below.

If you were rich, would you still own an HHR?

If I were rich, there are soooo many other cars I would rather have. Mostly from 30's, 50's and 60's. I like my 31' 5 window but it would be done (not just a project). A 55' turned gasser! a 35', 36', 37' or 38' Chevy Coupe *blown of course. A few 60's muscle cars (preferably Pontiacs).... Maybe an SS that would have every goodie possible for a DD. Maybe a Cooper S for a second DD. I like way too many cars to stick with just one.

One thing we need to do is define Rich.

The present Goverment has Rich at $250,000 a year and that is not what it once was. Any more that is middle class in some parts of the country. In So Cal it will not buy you much.

And If your over $250K the new taxes will keep you in a HHR. LOL!

I'd own the HHR, the Corvette, and the pickup. One for fun, one as a work vehicle, and one for economy, enjoyment, and good looks. The only problem is I had a hard time switching from a Ford to a Chevy because all the controls are in different places. So, I'd have to chose a Chevy truck.

If I had been rich before the purchase, the answer would be that "no" I wouldn't have bought the HHR -it would have been a Vette or a Porsche. But on the other hand, if I became rich now and knowing about the car what I know now, I would NOT get rid of the HHR. In fact would probably do a small fleet purchase for family members.

I bought my HHR for a specific purpose (lugging the dog across the country), so I'd definitely have acquired one (especially since Toyota redesigned the Matrix in 2009 (Wifey has an 05 which is great also), but I'd have to seriously think about trading up to an SS. Yeah, I know you guys with yours are in love with them, but I'm pretty cheap when it comes to things like that, and don't like the 18" tires (Southeast Pennsylvania, pothole capital of the US) and the 16's with the taller sidewalls really help absorb the bumps

Depending on the definition of rich, I may or may not be there. If I had more money to play with, I'd get a second SS, 5-speed, and get the 290 HP mod, just to drive for fun in addition to my commuter version.

tow vehicle

i would still use it as a tow vehicle behind my $500,000.00 motor home. I would just make sure it would not get all chipped up from all the road hazards being shot up from behind the motor home.

I was thinking the other day that even if I was really wealthy, I'd definitely still have the HHR, just because it's such a cool looking car ( I love the "retro" looking cars) and I love driving it, plus it's so versatile as a wagon. To be honest, even though the HHR was in the top 3 cars I was looking to buy, I really wanted to buy the Chrysler 300 or Dodge Challenger (sorry, that car is just freakin gorgeous!), but got the HHR because a) better fuel economy, b) front wheel drive (for snow) and c) way cheaper insurance. So anyway, if I was rich, I'd have 2 cars parked in my garage (in Santa Barbara of course!), a 2009 Dodge Challenger and my Silver 2009 Chevy HHR. Wouldn't they look good parked side by side? Two great retro rides What would you have?
Well I do okay I guess with a couple homes, 300zx, Vette, Acura and my HHR is my main ride.. I traded in a big ford for it when the gas went up. Great car

I love my HHR but if I were rich the only reason why I would keep it would be as my kick around car.

Choices would be the Nissan GT-R, Shelby GT500, Audi R8 V10, Ford F350 King Ranch, '69 Boss 429, Ferrari 355, Ferrari F50, Porsche Carrera GT, MV Augusta F4 (yes two wheels)...I could go on a LOT longer
