People who change their own oil do care about what they are putting in. People who don't care, usually go to cheapest place like lube stop. So I don't see logic about this oil.

I just see the lower price,
is it Dexo’s approved?
nope!
its stated for high mileage cars over 75,000 miles,
so it has the similarities of other HMO’s.

probably not. And that would be the reason for being cheaper.

It doesn’t mention projected life of the oil, is it a long life like Mobil1 or Castrol Full synthetics

Did anyone actually look at Amazon to see more? You guys are focused on the high mileage version which does not appear to be Dexos approved. They have Dexos approved Full Synthetic:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Plus/dp/B07C5VJFBF/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1545153416&sr=8-3&keywords=amazon+basics+full+synthetic+oil+5w30 https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Plus/dp/B07C5VJFBF/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1545153416&sr=8-3&keywords=amazon+basics+full+synthetic+oil+5w30

$3.33 a quart.

I'm personally not sold on the expensive brands like Mobile 1. To me it's just throwing money away. Like putting 93 octane in cars that don't call for it or support it. I've been using a store branded full synthetic oil for many years now. On sale it's $2.60 a quart. Yes, I care about what I put in my cars. I also care about how much money I spend doing it. So long as the cheaper alternatives meet the auto manufacturer's specifications, why would anyone use the expensive brands?

I will admit, I just don't like Amazon. So will stick with expensive Mobil1 at $25 for a jug. Also Walmart has super tech synthetic 5quart jug for $16-17 in case you wanna save couple dollars and still stay with requirements.

Was there a link to the Dexos oil? I didn’t see one.

That's strange OldBlue. I see the link. You can search Amazon for "Amazon Basics Full synthetic dexos". That's how I found it.

EDIT: OhioCruiser, you realize that even if you don't want to buy it, it's already caused enough of a stir to drop Valvoline's stock. In other words, it will force overall prices to drop. Good no matter who's oil you prefer.
