Buick has been the best selling badge in China for the last couple of years. When you wonder about rising gas prices, just remember that the Chinese are learning to love the automobile, and they need fuel. It will be a few years until we see Chinese made cars on sale here, but they are coming. Or in the case of Volvo, they will be here this model year.

China is a sleep giant that has awakened. While we feed them at state dinners they are hard at work stealing our interllectual property.
Just check out their latest stealth plane that looks like the F22 Raptor.
The real issues are here where GM needs to sell cars in Chinas but to do buisness there they need to partner with a Chinese company or they are not permitted in.
Now GM wouldl like to sell cars like the Volt there but to do so the Chinese Gov will force any company that wants to sell electric based cars to share the all the technology with the Chinese Gov.
Folks China is systematically working to take us down and we are now in a place we need them but the more we deal with them the more irrelevant we become.
What are we doing now to solve the throw a large dinner to honnor them as they laugh behind out leaders backs.
I heard an buisness expert the other day said we need to start teaching the more common Chinese dialects in our schools. Note he was not joking.
So while this is somewhat of a win for GM now it also is a path that may not have a good end.

I think Chinese national leaders are good at executing; our national leaders are good at debating. Let me give you one example, they started their health care system reform in 1990s by copying our system, and of course failed. They admitted it and already started over with something else. What about us? We finally passed a bill after long debate, now we are debating whether to repeal it or not.
