Are these the same for all years? Saw some metal ones listed on ebay for driver side front or rear but says dont fit my 2011, 2.2 lt…

Five HHR’s, only broke one (so far.) Bought a pair of metal handles (making the second one much cheaper,) still have the passenger side. Except for the circlip that retains the metal pin. I lost the first one, so good thing I bought the pair. Be careful. Maybe next time I’ll reuse the original plastic pin.

Very happy with it. Decided on metal because it’s not MY daily and I could be absolutely sure that the latch handle wasn’t being used to pull the door shut.

What no one ever mentions is that a metal handle isn’t necessarily the end of it. If the abuse continues, something else will break could break, and it will be a lot harder to fix, prolly. So it’s still important to make sure the thing is used just for opening the door, not closing it.

Been awhile but quite sure the pin went in from the top, same way the old one came out. Maybe it doesn’t matter. I never completely removed the door panel, just peeled back. This was a 2008 LS. Driver doors with the window switches might be messier. Remarkably, I didn’t lose the circlip trying to install it. It was in a teensie plastic bag and the wind tumbled it, so one is rusting somewhere in my garden. I just ripped the original pin out with no effort to preserve it. Next time I’ll attempt to reuse it. The handle also comes with a spring you probably won’t need.

I posted pics about this so I would think they would be here somewhere, but I can’t find them in my albums.
