Intermittent headlight issues

As far as trying the same thing over and over expecting the same result is pure BS. I reaplaced the build to rule out the ones being defective, I returned a defective switch for different one and when I was in there doing other things I tested the fuses, relays and wires again to make sure I tested everything correctly because in a situation like this double checking is not a bad thing. I am fully aware that the systems are seperated because that has been said multiple times and I could see this when I was looking at the diagrams.
I never even got mad when I was told I installed the sockets incorrectly even though it was never read that I had said I had 2 other chevys with chared sockets I replaced NOT this one.
After all the repetitiveness of the same things being said in this thread I never flipped out like that. Also when I was trying to decide which way I wanted to approach the lower control arms I took your advice with replacing the bushings with upraded ones instead of buying completed arms with the same crap bushings so I'm really not sure what is going on

Sorry I gotta say something here -
Why are you trying a different switch when it has already been explained several times that it will have nothing to do with the problem. That is exactly what Don refers to about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Same for trying 3 different sets of head light bulbs. And your comment about the sockets installed - you have to realize that when a thread goes on as long as this one has, one cannot remember each and every detail. There are not that many threads that come anywhere close to this long for a single issue for single member.
And it was 23 posts ago that the suggestion to check the fuse box first popped up - and you still haven't looked at it. 23 posts ago!!!!
All we can do is try and help - but getting sarcastic and insulting when those trying to help gets frustrated with the lack of progress etc., is not going to end well.

ETA: the switch was already on its way before it was apparently said not to be the cause

I know your pain when troubleshooting systems you might not be familiar with.
Worked in the automotive field for a lot of years and had to repair other peoples repairs plus chase gremlins also.
I get the feeling your on the ball to repair this.

Sorry, I never snapped or got upset. I felt I was out of advice and quit the discussion. Exclamation points are not shouting like all caps. This is the first time I have heard of someone getting offended by one.
I am going to close this for now before it gets out of hand. Feel free to start a new thread when there is something new to be said. We do want to know the outcome.

I have resolved my problems with my headlights going out
After having the issues with my headlights intermittently going out,(primarily on the drivers side) I have discovered the problem. Once I got a non defective turn signal switch put it the passenger side light had corrected itself.
The drivers side was a bit more complex. Because it happens more on the drivers side than the passenger side I had a suspicion that the issues where tied together but something else was going on with the drivers side.
I know it was said going back through the the same things was not going to fix the issue but I'm glad I did. I started to trim the tape holding the flexible black wire tubing together and started to trace the wires back. A short ways back in the tubing I found a previous repair. It had a small 4 inch section of one of the wires that had been cut and spliced in. The ends were crimped together, one side was loose and looks like it had arced on one connector. I turned the headlights one, moved the wire and sure enough the headlight went out then back on.
The wire appeared to be going down to the center wire on the sockect. Inspection of the small section of New wire looked good andhad enough slack to cut, strip and solder together with heat shrink tube. After that was done I redid the same test and the light did not go out. When I was checking continuity the splice must have been connected enough to show it was ok on the multimeter.
If I hadn't went back through the wiring I would have never found the previous owners crappy repair job and I would like to thank people for the time, patience and all the ideas that were given to me.

Good! do you recall the color of the wire? Which connector; 8 pin (block shaped) or 10 pin (straight line)?
Still does not explain how one side could be affected without the other side since the switch sends a single signal for both lights.
I wonder what the "repair" was for. Maybe an alarm system to flash the lights? Would have been a lot easier to splice at the BCM end of the wires.
On the 8 pin connector there is a white wire "headlamp ON signal" and a Purple/white "headlamp OFF signal".
