Island in the Ghetto
I BARELY got home today. Water was way up on the doors and no leaks. Had a look a little later and the water was way up in my driveway. Decided to get it high as possible. Still raining really hard. Crossing Finger here as all the cars on my street have water in them now for sure. Woo!

Don I am with you, I crossed some deep water several times on the way home too. My house is up a foot or so off of the street but check out this shot over my back fence about 5pm tonight. That is 15 feet deep, but I have seen it 1 foot from the top before.
Don, your car looks great by the way.

Thanks Tim, you're too kind. I saw the river at the 605 and willow today and there were HUGE waves. Water receded just fine, well at least for me. Most of my neighbors not so lucky. It still amazes me: I live 20 short blocks to the ocean and I get a flood? We're in for a lot more tomorrow, the house is up off the street and I thank God for prehistoric building codes. New roof 2 years old held up fine. Dodged a bullet today, hopefully I cant get home tomorrow!

years ago, i drove a tow truck. responded to a police call. the flooded street swept a car across the street into a partially downed tree limb killing the driver instantly.
please dont drive through flooded streets, even in a city

Looks almost like what we had a couple of months ago. We had two story houses completely under water. Lots of damage. Be safe and don't drive though any deep water, several lost their lifes here thinking it was "safe".
