Be patient. When someone asks about your HHR, or you have occasion to discuss car purchasing with others, discourage them from going to that dealer. If, over a period of time, you influence 5 people to avoid that dealer you will have cost the dealer about $100,000 in sales. This is a nice payback for the few extra dollars they got from you by not dealing fairly with you. What goes around comes around!

yep that is why i havent gone in there and tried to sway people to the good dealer. Im not really one that likes to screw people, but when you screw me 1st, then i can turn into a real big ahole. We have had some people come up and ask what the car is, but none have asked where we got it from, im hoping that some of these people will ask eventually because $100 in my pocket per car bought is a nice freebie for me.

Wow! Its amazing that some of these dealerships are still in business. I feel very fortunate with the deal I got on my HHR, of course they tried to lowball me on trade like always. I have purchased a few cars over the last 20 years and feel I have only been screwed once but I learned a lesson from it. I had only had my car a year and a week when I purchased the HHR so I did not have a lot of equity in it but I also did not need to buy yet. When I looked at the final numbers I could not believe they were giving me such a great deal. They ended giving me $3000 over payoff on car and an additional $1000 on rebate coupons that GM gives the dealerships. Needless to say I jumped at the offer and drove home in the new HHR and could not be happier. They told me it had been a slow week and they needed to move some vehicles, which I am pretty sure is how a lot of the chevy dealerships are right now. Unfotunately if its not a honda or toyota dealership times are rough right now. Well I will stop rambling but if you are looking for an HHR I feel you can wait and get a good deal if one dealership is trying to take you

Exclamation Dealers?????????????????

Hey all
These dealers are jerking everyone around. My local dealer did the same to me on my HHR, tried to give me wholesale on my astro, and retail for their (NEW) HHR, Dealer Trade. They say they can't keep them on the lot, ,Funny, they still have 6 here, and 4 at another dealer. Anyway, they also wouldn't give a rebate, None available by Chevrolet.. Another nearby dealer has discounted theirs only a couple hundred dollars... They are discounting the Cobalts $2,000.00 with no rebate, go figure. My Astro was worth double on the Cobalt at that dealer. I didn't argue too much due to the fact I had just filed for Bankrupsy, and didn't figure I'd get the HHR. I did and have had it for 1-1/2 months . I took a bath on mine; no was literally drowned . And I didn't/couldn't get the Cobalt.
Went back to the Dealer to check about the Driver Info Center about Oil Life message, found out no free Oil Changes... Say they haven't done one on an HHR yet... ...mmmmmmm scary huh? Also went to pick up my cigar lighter that was missing when i took delievery of my HHR. The salesman went to the Parts Department and got one from them......not like the original..... Asked about the vent visors, they had them for the HHR and offered a discount on them. almost 20%.
I think once the HHR's have been out awhile, they will loose their shekness, much like the SSR... They can't give those away around here it seems. I really am starting to like my HHR , but the more I think about it, the worst I feel about being taken on this thing, after all it only another Car, mode of transportation to them, $ signs....So, my suggestion is to really make these dealers work for them, they can go below retail. GM is in trouble, but isn't going to die, they can give good deals, that's how they have stayed in business all these years. If your dealer won't budge, don't buy it from him, someone will sell it to you for a deal. A good HHR is worth the wait.
