I've been HIT!!!

Yeah...
I could probably fix it myself, but an insurance claim may cut me a check to supplement me the cost of labor and parts. I can already see that a good portion of it could buff out. The lesions in the fascia will need to be filled.
Grrrr. I have an idea that it was the white Escalade that was parked next to me at QSL. Whoever hit me, hit me well. It is evident that the fascia was pressed in rather far-if you look at the inward crease toward the top.

As to whether you should file an insurance claim - I would say it depends on what your deductible is. It looks like about a $400 repair at a body shop. If you have a low deductible, make a claim. That's what you pay insurance for. If you're deductible is $500, why bother?

The scuffs should buff enough to look descent. Yes, the gouges will need some fill. By the time I do all of that I will need to repaint the whole bumper to match the paint.
No matter what, it will never look the same and I will always be conscious about it and the color deviation. FML

1-Don't bother with a police report. If they do one it will be of little to no value with an insurance claim in this case.
2-You should have no problem selling a hit and run scenario to a damage estimator and I suspect the repair will greatly exceed $400.
3-Typically, liability assessments made against you of 50% or less by your claims adjuster or an arbitrator, if it goes that far, will not have an adverse impact on your policy and/or rates.
4-Tough to tell if you can sell other lift gate damage as one accident without any more photos. It's usually worth a try since you won't be penalized for trying but a seasoned estimator can usually differentiate old from new, unrelated damage. Each ocurrance has it's own deductible. If you can sell it as having ocurred in one event whether it's vandalism, collision or whatever, one deductible applies.

Well. Called insurance. My deductible is $500. This damage is not worth that to me. I could fix it myself for far cheaper, hell, I may just keep it this way. It just figures. I take great care of my vehicles but it seems that nobody else seems to care about it. Rock Auto has them for around $35, $50, and $215 for a re-manufactured. IDK what I'll do. $500 is too much right now. Money is tight.

Damn. When i see this, i get thirsty for blood.
The first day i took the SS out of winter storage, i went to the restaurant, and when i came out, i noticed a large door ding on the rear door. I hate thoses mofo who dont care about other people's property.

Yeah, man. I get so discouraged at taking pride in my wheels whenever something like this happens. I was rear-ended in a Cadillac I had since high school (I was actually rear ended the night before a funeral for the pillar of my family who had just passed away, my grandmother). I really didn't need that right then. It crushed me. The bumper was crumpled in really bad and the rear quarter rose about an inch compared to the other side. I paid $200 bucks for that car and it was a great memory I have in my life. Once I cashed in on the insurance for it at $2800, I couldn't bear to love it anymore. Its odd. One thing lead to another, she sat for 4 years. The wrecker just came and took her away. I couldn't be home for it. I simply couldn't.
