I've had Balerion for a year

A year ago I came home with my black beast. In that time it's gone from this

to this

Current mileage:

I set Trip A on the way back from the dealer the second time, it's rolled over once:

Completed mods:
  • Removed pinstripes
  • Hand drawn flame third brake light overlay
  • Masked side markers with Plastidip
  • Black Depo headlights
  • K&N air filter
  • Swapped roof rails from chrome to black
  • Pulled daytime running lights fuse
  • Black billet lower grille
  • WeatherTech smoked in-channel window deflectors
  • Rear bumper fascia protector

In progress mod:

Planned mods:
  • Cobalt SS/TC rear springs
  • Orange LED interior lights, plus orange footwell strips
  • Body color door handles, mirrors, and beauty bar
  • Splash guards
  • Black powder coated Eagle 192 wheels

I have the splash guards, they're waiting to get painted with the other stuff I don't have yet.

About 1650 miles in a year, yep. I work from home, so I don't have to drive anywhere.

I have been looking at HHRs for weeks now. There are a lot of Low mileage 10's 11's's at around $13-14K. With the HHR, it's a crap shoot. low mileage could mean Steering column has not failed yet, Shifter has not been replaced, blower resister could blow and some more of the common early issues, I am just remembering the issues I had a few years ago when I had an 07.

higher mileage HHRs likely have these things corrected or were never an issue. The bets price I have seen so far is an 06 2LT with 61K for $9000. There are much better deals in the midwest on these.

Those problems aren't guaranteed on all units.

I watched the dealers near me for months before I got mine, I think I got extremely lucky to find one less than a year old with 7k miles on it. I'd recommend an 09 or newer because a lot of issues were worked out with the mid-cycle refresh, and should still carry most of the factory warranty.

Dracos,

Curious why you pulled your daytime running light fuse?

Will it actually increase the life of the headlamp bulb so it doesn't have to be changed as often or just a personal thing??
