There can be a Big difference in people telling how they do in the snow and ice.
In Seattle you have many hills and heavy traffic to contend with. That requires a lot more in Rubber and Skills then to drive in the flat lands of this country.
Also, the pounds per square inch you have on each tire and the gross weight of the vehicle you are driving will also make a big difference.
Lots of variables including the depth and type of snow.
The Blizzak and Michelin Ice tires are special compounded tires that are designed for snow and ice which is a real benefit over Standard All Seasons.
They also do not damage the hiways like studded tires do.
