Hey, I would use Amsoil, RP, M1, or any other quality synthetic if I could get a deal on it...LOL

I want to go with Mobile One synthetic, but hey, I'm putting in whatever they give me at the Chevy Store.

The dealer gave us free oil changes for life,
And the funny thing is , the sales guy did not even tell us about it as an incentive

We are using Amsoil 5W-30, full synthetic. Dumped factory fill at 1,148 miles.

My daily commute to and from work is approximately 200 highway miles. We have had our HHR 5-weeks today and have just under 5,000 miles driven.

Zero problems thus far. Fuel mileage is averaging 30.5 to 31.5 MPG. Not bad.

HHRandy... DON'T tell me you live in Saginaw and work in D-Town!!! That's about the ONLY commute I can think of (on a daily basis) that's THAT far!!! Unless, of course, your in sales and commuting... .. .
And I thought my commute was bad (42mile's 1-way... IN-and-OUT of downtown) ... traffic and driver's alike get horrendous the further south I go!

well i used castrol 5w-30 full synth.. and it was like water!! so i talked to a friend that ownes a lube cube and he said the 5w stuff is strickly recommended by gm for emissions reasons and would recommend 10w-30 full synth instead so i think i will use it on the next change!! he has been using it in cavaliers cobalts etc for more than 10 yrs and never had a problem yet!! just my opinoin!! and thanx all for the input!!!! Talking M1

Just hit 9,000 miles. first oil change with M1. Pepboys has a rebate for $3.60 so that's 5.19 a qt.
