Key Fob

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have a new key fob programed by a Chevy dealer. Both remote's are now broken and I was going to buy new ones off EBay.

welcome to the site.

there are lots of repairs that can be made to the remotes. if some buttions are not working you can buy the button pads place them in your remote and no program will be needed. the battery clip somtimes breaks loose and can resolder with easy. do a search on the site for key fob problems there is lots of info.

Welcome to the site. If you can not repair you can search the site for the info. From memory I have hweard that it runs $40 to $50. I have never heard if there is a break if you get more than one programed at a time.

There seems to be no preset price on having a fob programmed. On this site, I have seen "my dealer did it for free" to as much as $95 quoted.
Best to get a quote from your specific dealer.
As Ron S said, $40-$50 seems to be about the norm.

Any decent mechanic can program your fob. I just got one on Ebay and my mech charged me $20 to program it.

Locksmiths or mechanics can only do it if they have a Tech II or something to get into the programming mode. Not all of them do.

That's why I said "decent".

Not having manufacturer specific programming equipment makes a mechnic not 'decent'??
