$60 seems awfully low. If that is what they are charging for a brand new fob that is programmed to your car, buy 2.

something else to check out

not real sure how comfortable you are with opening the fob and seeing if you can repair it, but a related topic none the less. Hope it helps

Haha, my battery "hold-down" thing inside the fob used to come loose twice a day- the fix that worked for me without any problems since? Folding up a "sticky note" size piece of paper and wedging it in there! I never go the ghetto route on my car, but I kid you not it worked...

that sounds a little closer to normal. Still not as bad as some I've heard.

I purchased my '06 2LT in October 2005 - my first fob crapped out after about 3 years; I am now on my second fob, which just started crapping out this week. As shown in another post, I am going to attempt the soldering repair, as it appears the battery holder connectivity is at fault.

I got a fob of of E-bay for $21 total and a locksmith programmed it for $40.
You may want to try E-bay, if you don't need it right this minute.
Total time to receive fob and get it programmed was about a week.
