just saw a soul in person for the first time at the Casino in French Lick Indiana. Surprised by it a bit, wasn't expecting it to be bigger. There happened to be a golden teal 2lt hhr next to it too so i had something to compare it to.

was nice to see 4 wheel disc on it.

the cube doesn't look too bad from the front but the back is ass ugly. This is coming from a designer who loves asymmetry, but even that is fugly.

Don't know what you guys are talking about competing with the younger crowd and the xB... i don't think i have ever seen anyone under 40 driving one of those... and even that is rare it usually looks to be in the over 60 age bracket.

I don't think I could ever drive a 142 HP car.

It's not too bad, but it is hard to get used to. I still love my SS though!

I like to call Kia "Carbon-Copy Motors" because of how many designs they rip off of their competition. I mean come on, they have models that rip off the Toyota Corolla and a base Jaguar, and now they bring out the Soul which you gotta admit looks like someone cloned the Scion xB.

At least it's still better-looking than the Nissan Cube. (Barf)

I will admit that the soul is the only kia I would even consider. But having said that I will never buy one. It does come w/ alot of extras that other cars don't have, well sport model anyways (but at the cost of skimping in what other areas?). I would only look at the sports trim and w/ only getting a red dash, well no thanks. It does have a unique factor, but so did the xb 4 years ago. Id plan on test driving one some time in the near future just to see how it handles. Better looking than the cube though

As I said before, I really like the Soul Sport and I'm 58. As far as copying cars, every car on this planet it seems is a copy of another. Examples: in the 50s it was fins, so every car came up with them. Thunderbird/Corvette - 40s - They all looked the same. 60s - They were long and boxy. Then came Pony Cars - Mustang/Camaro/Javelin/etc. Late 70s - All looked like **** - 80s - Same. 90s- Everything looked like a Ford Tauris. etc. etc. etc.
In fact, while it would seem like swearing, I think the HHR was coined from the PT Cruiser. (sorry).

Well, I work nights and I did put seat covers on the front seats. That toned down the red some. But when you are driving, if the sun hits the windshield at the right angle you get that red glare. I told the salesman when I test drove it. He said that I was the first person to mention it.

You can say that again about taking some time to get used to. The steering wheel controls are on the opposite sides of the wheel. At least the cruise control has a cancel button.
And Reverse is in & up (next to 1st) instead of out & back (behind 5th), like the 5-speed on my SS.
The biggest thing is just puttering along with no g-forces pushing you back into the seat.
