"KlackKlack" sound when opening front doors

When fully swinging the front doors (both sides) open, I get a very distinct, quite loud "KlackKlack" sound. Greasing the door stoppers doesn't seem to have any influence on the sound. I cannot remember if the sound was there when I bought the cars years ago. It has been like that for the last couple of years.
When opening the rear doors, there is almost no sound at all. It's only barely audible.

Is it normal? Do you guys have it also?

Look at the plastic stopper my driver side had a break in the plastic between the humps. A new stopper fixed that problem.

Hmm, as far as I can tell, both front door stoppers seem to look fine.

Then oil the upper and lower hinges, perhaps the pins are dry.

Tried that, too. Doesn't have any influence. The sound seems to originate from inside the front doors. Maybe the mechanism through which the stoppers slide?

Simple as they are not many moving pieces, it could be nuts #2 are loose or bolt #1

Here’s a view of the inside part of the stopper, the bumps might be causing a bump bump from the larger metal piece bolted to the door

Thanks, I have now double checked the nuts and bolts. They are completely firm.

- Do other HHR owners also have this sound?
- Is there some sort of dampening material between the inside part of the stopper and the door, which could wear out?
- I haven't found the stopper so far on RockAuto or eBay (at least not new). Is it not available anymore?

I just replaced my driver’s door stop last spring, purchased at my local GM dealership, it was cheaper there.

The door check, for front, is GM p/n 25800726. They are available. Google the part number and find the best deal for you.
