Leather in my 2008 2LT
My 2008 has 37000 miles and I love the black leather seats and leather wraped steering wheel and shifter. I've been using armour all leather care to maintain the leather. Seems o.k. so far but you can tell that the driver's seat looks "relaxed" as compared to the other seats. No one else is ever in my car. Do any of you have any recommendations for the drivers seat? There's prbably nothing that can be done to keep it as new as the others short of not driving it but this car is just too much fun to not drive. I love it!!

Part of the idea concerning leather seats, furniture, etc. is the "character" that is built from use. There is nothing like having a good leather chair for personal use....especially after it builds the personal wear patterns.
I've had vehicles with leather interiors for about 30 years. I've had various pieces of leather furniture for about 50 years. Other than cleaning, nothing else can be done other than reupholster.
JMO.....

What happens is the leather stretches over time and does not reset to original shape. The heavier you are the more and quicker it stretches. The other thing on the drivers seat is the foam cushion starts to break down with the higher useage and that adds to the stretch problem.
You might want to plan ahead and get a new foam piece for the seat bottom only while the OEM parts are still available and so you could have an Uphosterer redo the seat down the road.
Armor All Products chase my wife right out of the car in minutes.
I would be careful about breathing that toxic chemical stuff.

If it really bothers you, take it to an upholstery shop. They can easily rebuild and replace foam padding as necessary. They may even be able to find a matching leather piece. Also I would use cleaners and conditioners that are specifically made for leather, not armor-all, which can dry out the leather, which is not what you want. Just my 2 cents.

just like my comfy chair , a 43 year old Lazyboy leather recliner, man is it durable and comfy, I have used leather cleaning products on it over the years to keep it soft and supple, and I wouldn't worry about the wear pattern, ass old Frank sang, That's life, there can't be no deniegn'n!!!

The only reason I suggest the OEM foam pad as a replacement is that it is a factory spec. contoured pad, and if you like the original feel of the seat then thats the best replacement to use.
I have had many car/truck seats refurbished but they never come out exactly like the original. Just depends on how fussy you are.
On the Leather upkeep I use the same product as on my 2 new high quality Leather Stressless chairs.
It is their own product but it is a great one to use.
Stessless Ekornes
Hide-Bracer
Leather Conditioner and Cleaner
8 fl. ounces
Approx. $20
Find a home furnishing store that sells Stressless Chairs and they should carry it, or go on line to see whats available there.

I use Lexol and been very happy with it. My 08 came with ebony cloth and I bought the ebony leather seats from a junk yard, they were pretty dirty, and were out in the weather for awhile.
Good stuff and it's not slippery. Just follow the Directions. Nothing will stop wear and tear, and the leather will stretch over time but taking care of them will help them last longer.
Only Lexol the Actual Leather. Our seats are a Mix of Leather and Vinyl.
