LED Tailight Bulbs

I just installed some 7w Cree High Power LED taillight bulbs I found on ebay for $26 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331074001881...84.m1439.l2649 and am quite happy with them. I looked for info here on suitable LED taillight bulbs but only found reference to complete assemblies. These are red colored bulbs which are more suitable than the white in this application.

I did encounter a glitch, though. When I installed the first one, only the end bulb lit up (it also has led's around the circumference). So I removed it, turned it 180 degrees, reinstalled and all was well. Same blink rate as original. I installed one in the other side and had it backwards too (my lucky day), so flipped it and the rate was faster (twice as fast). ?? So I swapped the two bulbs and things went back to normal. Don't know why it happened like that, but all is well. They are brighter than the stock counterpart, should last forever, don't require resistors (plug and play) and have that instant on/off look I like so much. Happy camper.

nice deal, glad they worked out, I spent $65.00 on LED's a few years ago the hyper flash kept getting attention from the police so, I tried the resistors they ran way to hot, so I'm back to stock 3057's.

I installed these same bulbs and I had ths hyper flash for a few minutes. What was weird is the hyper flash was not just a normal flash, but it was intermittent hyper flashing. Then everything seemed to come under control. The leds are very bright and worth the money. I wanted to experiment with these before I order the ipcw's and I'm pleased. I will be ordering a set of load resistors just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, it was like the flasher module had to 'reprogram' for the new bulbs. All is well, they have been working fine ever since. BTW, I have a 2010 LS (if that matters).

Yes, that first link doesn't seem to work anymore. Here is another: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-3157-3057-3156-T25-SMD-7W-CREE-High-Power-LED-STOP-BRAKE-SIGNAL-LIGHT-Bulb-/171202102534?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27dc70c506&vxp=mtr
