Local Dealer visit, last one.

Plus 2 others that I called basically told me the same thing.

Extended GM warranty pays for parts! and some labor! woohoo! BUT no adjustments or programming. I tell the SM, what does the $100 deductible get me? He says not alot. So

To program 2 remotes, reset TAP on my ECU (to cure the bucking - regardless that the car's been in 2 previous times for the same problem), reinstall that elephant trunk looking boot between the hatch and the body where the water POURS in and rotate my tires was $350. I am SO proud of myself, I calmly handed him the service hat from my car and the wadded up paper floor mat. Took the keys out of his hand and left. Im done.

Read the soldering thread for the remotes. $12 for soldering kit and $6 for a battery and one remote works now.

Do independant shops have the GM scan tool to reset my TAP chingas?

I have to wait for what I want to replace the car with and in the meantime, I want to try and handle most of the repairs myself. Cant wait to be rid of this thing! - Will have Bermuda Black LED tails, sway bar, SS wheels and tires for sale here soon. THanks for any replys to the SCANTOOL question folks.

Generally I do not believe in any type "extended service contract/warranty".

But generally (again), you need to know what you are getting BEFORE you sign. And usually these are written in very lengthly legal script. I don't wish to sit in their office for hours reading such drivel, which is written to protect them and not to explain coverage to you, IMO. So I don't accept any additional "add-ons".

It was a matter of a few dollars as I got the Extendo for a VERY low price. The point of all this is the ****TTY service, the nausiating overpleasantness and the lack to step up and fix a documented problem. The car was in 2 times UNDER the intial B2B warranty. All I got was yes'd to death and that they understand my frustration. All of my Ford products have been nothing but pleasant experiences when dealing with warranty or the lack of. My 9 year old Merc just got a letter from the dealer asking to come in for a new hood latch that's been TSB'd. 9 YEARS OLD. Hell I cant get GM to fix what's their's to fix even with the $100 deductible. Im hoping to find access to someone with the scan tool. If not, it gets traded in as the bucking is getting worse and I need it to commute to work/not feeling the reliability I used to. - I hear you Kevin/Bonnie, I hear you!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.Even Sorrier to hear that you are planning on selling your HHR.
Guess I better go read over the fine print on my Warranty.
Sounds like some dealers you get great service others well?
A guy at my work just got his front wheel bearing replace on his car and he was out of the warranty by a few months he said.
Good luck
