Long distance comfort

I am a heavy 6'1" guy who needs a high gas mileage vehicle to drive between Phoenix and Mexico, about 6 hours each way.
I currently have an Avalanche and really like the HHR. I have sat in the HHR but really haven't had a chance to drive it much. Can anyone else give me their honest opinon of the comfort level for long term driving?

I recently took a six and one half hour trip in my HHR and I was very confortable. I think you would be as well.

Welcome HHRAZ,
Last August I rented an HHR from Hertz and drove a 3700 mile loop from California to Hot Springs Arkansas over a 10 day period. I did 2 /15 hour days and was very surprised at how good I felt at the end of the day. I was sold on the HHR after that trip. I think the upright seating position is excellent. To me it is like sitting in a wingback chair. The ride will be much better than your Avalanch too. Between the comfort and the gas savings you can't go wrong.

Wish I could help, but the furthest we've been in almost 2 years is from Chandler to Maricopa, over to Casa Grande, then back to Chandler. I was as comfortable as I could get, what with my Wife driving!! If you know what I mean!

out of 10 stars ive give it about a 5.5 in long driving comfort...

i too am about 6'2" and "heavy" (LOL) and after several hours its not too comfortable, i have to stop every once in a while...

not alot of leg room down at the pedals, side to side wise, so my leg on the front/side of my right calf is hitting that middle section "waterfall" thing where the radio is

i also have a very fck't up back that requiered 2 surgeries, and after a whilew you have to like adjust yourself to find a good spot, but the seats are pretty small, and its hard to get just right

id guess a 4 hr trip is ok, but 4-6 decent, over that id say its just not good...
just my honest opinion

I am vertically challenged but horizontally gifted! I did a 7200+ mile trip from California to southern tip of Florida, then up to Chicago then cross crossed my way back towards home. I did this in about 13 days.... SOLO. Other than having to get out and stretch every once in a while, I was quite comfy!

Size: 5.6 KB to the site!!! I think the HHR is fairly comfortable on long rides. Not as comfortable as some cars I've owned but definitely not the worst.

The weekend after 4th of July I took my HHR to Kansas City and back and put on almost 1300 miles in 2 days. I found it to be quite comfortable the entire time. We did stop from time to time for gas and to stretch or get something to eat, but you'd do that with any vehicle I would think.

Welcome to the site.
I would recommend the power seat option. Lots of adjustment for different size individuals.
Long distance comfort has been very acceptable for me.
My 2 cents.........
