long term storage

A few days ago I was told that my father will not be with us for much longer he has cancer. I would like to put his 07 hhr in some type of long term storage. Its just a normal hhr that we did a few mods to but its very special to me because it is his. anyone have some good advice on storing this car? Thanks Joe

As a noob, I unfortunately have no advise to offer on your question, but I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how sorry I am for you, your dad, and your family. May God bless and keep you all.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Lucky, we're all here for you any time at all.

As for storing the HHR, the article linked up by sick50ford pretty much covers everything needed to "pickle" a vehicle for long term storage.

the right advice
But I would not remove all the liquid if the shelf life of 3 - 5 months, remove only the oil from the engine. Pour the new oil after storage. Disconnect the battery required! but not necessarily take the battery out of the car, it feels fine in his usual place.
And yet - stand the vehicle over a wooden pyramids and let the air out of tires.
close with a cloth or plastic the body cars. Fear of mice, if you live in a suburban house uses ultrasonic device to repel mice and rats.

good luck for you and your dad

I would go to a boat supply place and get some engine fogging oil also.
