So the verdict is in
$1200 -
Insurace claim filed and the car is in the shop as of this morning.

bumper
absorber under bumper cover
right side light assembly
labor for all the stuff

no help from the mall security - we were parked in a blind spot......

If it happens again, my vote. Install remote security cameras that run off DC power, with an on board Hard Drive and have it record every time you go in to a store and or gas station, etc. just my $0.02
