looking at a 08 ss tomorrow afternoon

Welcome to the site Zora! Some things I would look at: Like mentioned before make sure you are getting full boost when hard on the throttle (15 psi or so when stock). The limited slip differential is a great option to have and helps get the power to the road. The stage 1 or GM turbo upgrade is offered by GM as an aftermarket performance upgrade and does not void any existing warranty. If the car has any aftermarket mods (GM upgrade, Upper motor mount, down pipe...etc.) this may be an indication of a car that was driven hard. In any case good Luck and go with your gut (and a lengthy test drive)

Stage 1 is the turbo up grade the factory offers silver 87 mentioned what to look for you can tune without it and the difference is greater on the automatic I believe Batman can testify what it does for 5 speed Probably the best advice was 843 look it over well you want one that was well cared for as your blank canvass you can add anything else you want believe me there are quite a few things you might want to do or not its a awesome little race wagon to start with.

thanks for the welcome and info ss fan. But, whats a stgI? Is it a chip or a tune? I could tell you about holley carbs, or AC 44n plugs but I see I have a lot to learn. Thanks again for the advice, PS They're asking $15895 for an 08 with34k miles. Sound ok. I"m going to start at $14000 and see if they like that
