Loose door issue

I just got a 2008 HHR SS a week ago yesterday. I love everything about it but I have noticed that it seems like the driver door doesnt seem to close as tight as it should. I can actually push it about 1/2 in inch in when it is closed. I couldnt see any way to adjust the striker since it has self adjusting screws. It's not loose enough to cause a leak or create wind noise, just enough to annoy me.

Anyone else have a loose door?

Take it back to the dealer and have them correct that.

I bought it 2 hours from where I live, and since it's used I don't think a local dealer will mess with it

Nope, no loose doors here.

I would run a magnet on the door jamb & see if it sticks..Magnets don't stick to thick bondo..

A while back someone bought one that had a door problem.. Turned out to be quikie fixed, from a accident.

Just sayin...

Same thought I had sleeper, wonder if it took a shot on that side, check it out with a magnet or at the very least take it to a body shop so they can check for damage. We looked at a ton of HHR's and I've never come across a door that didn't work as it should, ever.

Chevy13-

Not trying to freak you out, just something that should be thoroughly checked. And before too long, since you just got it a week ago..

It's not really noticeable at all. I think loose was a bad term to use. It doesn't rattle or anything. It just doest get as snug as the rest. I will look into it more though. Thanks guys!

The striker is adjustable. Being an old ex-body man for
20 years I have never seen a striker you could not adj.

I thought the same thing too. These aren't though. The screws that hold them in are tapered so no matter what, it will align it back to the way it was before. The claw latch might be a little different though, I'm probably going to look in to modifying it this weekend
