About 2 gallons. You need to hit the gas station and pick up a jelly donut and a bottle of anything...TO GO!

HHRCrafty...suddenly I imagine David Lee "Diamond Dave" Roth in full tribal gear...I wonder why? Remember, too...that jelly donut and bottle of anything has to be....to go!

Mine comes on at exactly 50 miles on the 'miles to empty' reading, after that point it stops predicting miles to empty and just tells me 'low fuel' so I haven't gone much further than that, but 2 gallons would be right.

Mine does the same, pg318. It came on during a long trip on the interstate and I had to go another 5 miles until an exit. I ended up putting 16.2 gallons in the HHR. Pretty surprising since that's the size of the tank.

Bottom line is when that message comes on, find the nearest station and fill up!

Mine comes on a lot later than the other GM vehicles I've owned with similar displays or indicator lights. My Impala had a good 4 gallons left in it, the 2500HD (Duramax diesel) has between 3 and 4. I don't take chances, so I usually have it filled up before the warning comes up.

soon come

just happened to me 1 week ago. I drove 8kms back home and another 8kms back to fill up, I put in 53 litres..the full tank is 54 litres.

I would recommend a quick response to the message.

"I would recommend a quick response to the message."
Especially since the fuel pump depends on the fuel for cooling and long life.
