Lower vs Higher

I have noticed that no one seems to want to make their HHR be higher than standard. I am confused on why people want to lower the HHR, and why not raise it? I believe the SS does sit a bit lower from the factory, doesn't it? I don't want to lower my HHR, because I use a hitch bicycle carrier and I already hit the end of it once on a steep driveway even with the factory ride height. I just don't understand the higher vs lower mindset, and why certain vehicles seem to get raised and others lowered.

I think its the center of gravity thing and cornering that makes lowering popular besides when the tires are tight inside the well it looks so good. Off road high center is the only reason I would raise any thing and I dont plan on doing that (on purpose anyway). Haven't lowered the SS yet its pretty low now.

I thought you lowered it, if mine set like that I wouldn't have to. You know SS...I never thought about the extra work load that went with my truck when I got rid of it till you mentioned it, I do miss it for when I need something hauled.
