lowering springs

i decided to lower the car, and did some research.
from what i gather, the eibach's are not that great on the H'
so i did not pursue a price quote.

gold line was my next choice, but the price quoted was $600+ CAD from a local car shop, too rich for my blood

soo.. i found a Canadian company that pretty much builds what you need as you order, and includes all the related shim kits. ships all the way from BC to ON for around $50. My total cost is around $450.

I will post the obligatory before, and afters as well as some install pics when i get them .

$600.00 I just looked at Truckshops Goldline Springs, $219.00, plus shipping.
That quoted price is really high, or is because of where you live, that things are so high?

I believe the quoted price includes install as well.

I'm not surprised. UPS charges custom brokerage fees based on the value of the shipped item, + GST.

So 219 + say, 50 shipping x exchange rate + custom fee + GST, and you're already above 400.00 canadian. I'm sure that whoever orders them will tack a small markup, say $50 and charge $150 for installation. Tadaaah !

I'd eventually like to get a lower billet grill, but I think that I'll drive down and get it myself when I'm ready, because a $79 grill turns out to be 200 when it gets here.

The secret to buying automotive accessories from the US and getting them shipped to Canada is to find a company that will ship the product via USPS Air mail.

In the past I've ordered a couple of items from SoCal (vent visors and sway bar) and did not have to pay any duty/taxes/brokerage fees on the items. I also bought a lower billet grille from a member of this site and had it shipped USPS Air mail - no extra charges for that either.

The $600 did not include installation, I think the "custom shop" was either ... just hoping i would say "duh yeah ok ,order them"
OR the shipping taxes customs etc... really do add up.
this i would bank on, as i have ordered from the US before and the shipper puts the value of the item at more than its worth (shipping insurance) BUT at the customs guys looks at this price and sticks it to you.
