LT1 or LT2

Is there a simple way to tell if you are looking at an 1LT or 2LT. I'm looking at buying and would prefer the upgraded suspension if I can find one.

I don't think so

Other than the suspension, I believe that almost everything in 2LT is available as an option for 1LT. Fog lamps are one example. So, the absence of certain options will allow you externally to confirm that an HHR is a 1LT. If they are present, then it could be either trim level. More useful information is supplied by others below.

Code FE3 is the sport suspension...... it would be listed on the placard in the glove box. That will give you something specific to look for if you need the sport suspension. (highly recommended )

The proper designation is 1LT or 2LT.

The 1LT has more options, one is the 2.2 or 2.4 engine.
The 2LT will have 17" wheels and tires. The 1LT will have 16"
Most of the Spring or Fall editions are a 2LT.
There may be a code on the glove compartment that designates the 2.

the only other item that is standard on 2LT and NOT available on 1LT as an option is the rear veiw mirror with driving compass display item DD8 in glove box list

Most 2LTs have sunroof, leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, running boards, driving lights and 2.4L engine as standard equipment, while those are options on the 1LT.

Did you know you can purchase cars on OVERSTOCK.com? I was looking at new HHRs pricing and their dealer network had $6000 discounts on the HHR. Unfortunately the closest dealer was nearly 170 miles away. My local dealers don't belong to their network and offer ~$4000 off. But if you want a good price...

one of the dealers near my house orders every HHR with running boards. I think they are $450 option. I have an LS and I ordered the running boards after I bought my HHR and installed them myself along with the compass mirror, leather steering wheel and fog lights. I wanted a black with no chrome or roof rack so I had to get an LS.
