Maintenance on 2006 hhr
#11
Thats crazy about the fuel filter. My local dealer said that is what is done at 15k. what about the 2 stage fuel injector cleaner? they said that needed done too. When I get info like this it makes me mad at the dealers....... Like they told me to do the lube and then I found out the hhr is sealed and self lubing... What should I beleive? alldata says just to rotate tires and do oil changes, air filter, cabin air filter, and 50k do a transmision fuild change... But the dealers say come in at 15k ,30k, 60k ,90k. and its lots of money everytime... I do not see the need for it. I need had details on the correct thing for my car.

I had one tell me that unless I changed the oil every 3K, it would void my warranty.
And I can't stress enough, alldata is for dealers and service shops, not the consumers. They will recomend what lines their pockets and pays their bills, It's fine for general use, but I will ALWAYS follow what the manufacturer says. After all, they made the car and are the ones who issue and can void the warranty. If they say I don't have to change the oil unti the DIC says, don't have to change plugs for 100K, etc......that's what I'll do.

I'm concerned with the tires. I've never had low profile tires before. I heard or read (manual or dealer) that these tires should be rotated every 5000 miles. So, I decided to have them done at about 4500 intervals. Also, I'm doing the oil changes at that same time. It's a personal preference....as long as you do the minimum required to keep the warranty in effect, that's all that's really important. I'd never waste the money to do oil changes at 3000 miles - unless I saw proof that there is significant oil breakdown that quick.

I get the oil and oil filter, cabin filter, the Outlaw filter, and the tires rotated every 5,000 mile. The oil and tires according to my service contract with the Dealer and since I found out about the cabin filter well,it gets changed as well. I have one more Outlaw filter left, then I must read on how to clean and oil (I think) the others.
