My 06 LT is a 5 speed ... although I haven't had any real issues with it, I do wish it were a bit higher, a bit less notchy and that the gear setup was a bit more "German" so I can stick it into 5th at 50km/h and it runs smooth.

But I love manual transmissions and am so glad I don't have an automatic :)

You need a Stick Shift Cozy. I still have my insubstantial chromed plastic knob, but on a shortened lever. Pics in gallery.

Had 2 manual trans HHR's. Lt2 2.4 and SS. SS is far better and shifter location is an improvement.No problems with either of them.

I like it. However, I need a Chevy version! LOL

Honestly, I think I might pick up a pair of black baby socks. That should do the trick.
