Maximum Cargo Length

Maximum Cargo Length
I'm interested in the maximum cargo length with the back seats folded flat. Can anyone give me these dimensions? While building my cabin, I will be sleeping in whatever vehicle I buy, and wanted to know if the maximum cargo length is do-able to sleep in in the HHR. I believe it would be, especially if you measure from one corner up front (just behind one front car seat on the edge) to the opposite side where the hatch closes. I'm 6' and am curious if there will be enough leg room. I'm reading 55", but I believe there's more length potentially than that. Thanks.

60 inches from the hatch to the back seat folded down edge. Move the front seats up, and you'll get another 10-12 inches of length. BUT, there will be a drop off, open space between the folded rear seat and the front seat backs.

I have a memory foam pad comin on a Fedex truck today. While crawling in there I realized I might be able to sleep in it but the crawling in was killing my knees. I decided to put a pad in there all the time, covered with a nice gray sheet. I'll throw a beach towel over it in the rear to keep it clean.
It is 60" long, 39" wide, and 4" thick. I think it will kill road noise on the highway, too.
With bent knees, it'll sleep ok. A 2" thick pad would probably be nearly as good and leave more head room.

Thanks everyone for the awesome information! Yeah, I'd prob put a big roll of foam to fit in between the back of the passenger's seat and the rear seat folded flat (the leg room area) to give that dead space some substance to increase the overall sleepable room, and still keep the passenger's seat up. Thanks again!! -A

I put my foam in there. I figure I'll have to drop the front passenger seat to give my big feet a little more stretching room. The padding is great, though. It's very firm.
I can get in and out from the side doors no problem.
It'll do in emergencies or an overnight at the park where my friends camp out sometimes. It ain't no Holiday Inn but it's dry. :)
My guitars, amps and rifles will have a real cushy ride from now on.
