Maximum Cargo Length
#11
I was looking at Herman, for a couple long trips I'd like to take alone, and I figure, a pad like the one pictured previously, and a single self-inflating camp mattress to take up the passenger side, with the seat folded forward, would be plenty for me to sleep, and I'd use some low drawers along the length of the area behind the driver's seat, topped with some plastic bins, for storage.
A lightweight hitch rack could go on my receiver, for a waterproof "trunk" to carry a tent, folding chair, and my Montague bike.
The idea is to use the car as a 'catnapper' or enroute sleeping... and for more established stays (besides the family/friend visitations), I could break out the tent and finally get some camping in.
Living with a wife and daughter who are very firmly "city girls", I don't get out in the sticks as much as I'd like.

Longboard surfboard with seats flat?
Could someone provide the dimensions of the two arrows in the attached picture?
Curious if I could fit my 9'4" longboard slightly angled onto dashboard to rest of cargo area in a HHR lt?
Thanks in advance

Read this thread. There was a discussion regarding surfboards inside the HHR.

SlickRick2 posted in post #22,
Bought a used 9'4" and it just fits with the nose up on the dash. So close that when we put a towel around the tail, the gate wouldn't clear. I bought a set of softracks and will be using them. Just good to know it will fit in a pinch.
I’ve carried 10’ soffit and facia panels the front tucked down a bit under the dashboard. But that is way more flexible then the surf board!
